Madison Vigil for Life joins pro-life groups from across the country in condemning today’s tragic murder of late-term abortionist Dr. George Tiller.

Over the last 36 years, our country has lost more than 50 million pre-born babies to the scourge of abortion.  As such, it should be clear that violence is not a solution.  Madison Vigil for Life declares that no one who resorts to violence can be described as pro-life.  We will continue to follow the example set by civil rights leaders throughout history who have peacefully worked to ensure the dignity of every human being is respected.

Since our group’s inception, we have prayed for the conversion of abortionists.  The perpetrator of today’s murder has ensured that Dr. Tiller will not have the chance to join the many former abortionists who have renounced violence against pre-born children and used their talents to heal rather than destroy life.  We urge our supporters to pray for the soul of Dr. Tiller and for his family.

Vigil for Life Co-Director Steve Karlen is available for comment at 608-445-2063.
