31 open hours this week

“When the time comes, as it surely will, when we face that awesome moment, the final judgment, I’ve often thought, as Fulton Sheen wrote, that it is a terrible moment of loneliness. You have no advocates, you are there alone standing before God — and a terror will rip your soul like nothing you can imagine. But I really think that those in the pro-life movement will not be alone. I think there’ll be a chorus of voices that have never been heard in this world but are heard beautifully and clearly in the next world — and they will plead for everyone who has been in this movement. They will say to God, ‘Spare him, because he loved us!'”

Congressman Henry Hyde

40 Days for Life – Madison starts Wednesday, Sept. 28 and ends on Sunday, Nov. 6th. We are in need of the following to keep our campaign alive!

Vigil Captains – Ideally, we need 14 so each Vigil Captain will only need to fill 12 hours every week.

Job Description: Watch the vigil calendar throughout the week leading up to your chosen one day of the week to ensure that each hour is covered. By the night before the start of your day, the hours must be filled. If they are not, you must call volunteers that might be able to fill the hours. If you cannot fill the hours, despite making numerous phone calls during the appropriate phone hours, you can call
someone on the emergency prayer warrior list. If you still cannot fill the hour, you must contact the vigil coordinator who will be watching the schedule as your backup.

Volunteer Callers – We’d like calls to start as soon as possible.

Job Description: You will personally invite past participants to join 40 Days for Life again this fall by calling them on the phone to encourage and to remind them to sign up.

Events Team

Job Description: You will plan the kick-off, mid-point and closing events with the 40 Days for Life campaign coordinator. While the vigil itself is the bread and butter of 40 Days for Life, events are
important opportunities for bringing in new people and building up vigil participants.

Outreach Team

Job Description: The outreach team will promote 40 Days for Life outside of the current participants and current churches involved. This would include reaching out to pro-life or Christian organizations
for participation.

Please prayerfully consider signing up to be one of the above needed
volunteers. To volunteer – please respond via e-mail to
info@vigilforlife.org or sign up via our event on Volunteer Spot at:

Prayer
By: Fr. Terry Gensemer

Lord, you are the creator of all things. Guide my thoughts to consider your creation in all of its majesty, beauty and holiness. Guide my heart especially to your creation of precious human life.

Help me to comprehend how essential life is in your own heart. Teach me to appreciate, love and protect all human life through your son, Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
