Dear Friends of Life,
The other week a young man called and wanted to get involved in witnessing outside of Planned Parenthood. He said, “I can’t let another day go by without doing something about abortion. The days keep on going by and I have not done anything about it yet. I can see me at my life’s end and having done nothing about it. I cannot let that happen. What do I need to do?” Since that call, this young man has come to the sidewalk weekly to witness for life. He said it’s been one of the “most positive experiences” he’s had in his life. Praise God!
Please bring your witness for life to the sidewalk this week.

Looking for an extra sacrifice to make for Lent? Time spent in prayer every week on the sidewalk (in the cold) planting good seeds might be your answer!
“We can think of Lent as a time to eradicate evil or cultivate virtue, a time to pull up weeds or to plant good seeds. Which is better is clear, for the Christian ideal is always positive rather than negative. A person is great not by the ferocity of his hatred of evil, but by the intensity of his love for God. Asceticism and mortification are not the ends of a Christian life; they are only the means. The end is charity. Penance merely makes an opening in our ego in which the Light of God can pour. As we deflate ourselves, God fills us. And it is GOD’s arrival that is the important event.” -Fulton J. Sheen

Prayer By: Rev. Rob Schenck
God, forgive us when we try to explain away the obligation we have to help others who need help.
Enable us to not devalue them because they are in the circumstance that they are in, but to see them for what they are,
those, who like us, were formed by your hand in their mother’s womb. Amen.
