Prayer Countdown: 9 days to 40 Days for Life!

Let us prepare ourselves in prayer for the start of 40 Days for Life (in 9 days!), asking the Holy Spirit to inspire and strengthen us!

Let us pray,

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Your faithful and enkindle in them the fire of Your love.  Send forth Your Spirit and they shall be created.  And You shall renew the face of the earth.

Holy Spirit! Lord of Light! From Your clear celestial height, Your pure beaming radiance give!

Almighty and eternal God, Who has vouchsafed to regenerate us by water and the Holy Spirit, and has given us forgiveness from all sins, vouchsafe to send forth from heaven upon us your sevenfold Spirit, the Spirit of Wisdom and Understanding, the Spirit of Counsel and Fortitude, the Spirit of Knowledge and Piety, and fill us with the Spirit of Holy Fear. Amen.

Drew Medical Center in Los Angeles.  Haywood is now a family physician practicing in Bryan – College Station, Texas. He has been married to Noreen Johnson, M.D., for 33 years. They are the parents of three daughters and have four grandchildren.

Lord, we come before you this day and ask that your will be done with this mission.  Lord, it is not our mission, it is your mission and all that we ask is that you do with us what you will.  Give us the love and humility to simply open ourselves up so that your spirit, light, and love can flow through us freely. We are your hands and feet here on earth.  We are the only image of you that some people may ever see.  Let us shine forth that image perfectly so that people may see the good we do and give glory to God.  We ask this is Jesus’ holy name. THE 2018 NATIONAL DAY OF REMEMBRANCE OF ABORTED CHILDREN IS TOMORROW ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 8TH.

 

10:30 a.m. at St. Michael’s Church, 109 S. Military Rd., Dane, WI – Prayer service will be led by Fr. Richard Heilman.    It is a day to honor the gravesites of aborted children.  Tens of thousands of these children have been retrieved and buried at gravesites across our country. This has been an event with quite low attendance in the past few years – please come out if you are able!

Thinking about the above quote from Thomas Jefferson (one of our nation’s founding fathers), it would seem that our government went way off track in 1973 when it put forth the tragic decision of Roe v. Wade that does not care for human life but only promotes its destruction. 
 
Show your care for human life this week!  Sign up for an hour or more to witness forLIFE on the sidewalk outside of Planned Parenthood where the care of human life is at all time low.

Join Fr. Richard Heilman for National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children Prayer Vigil on 9/8

Dear Friends of Vigil for Life,

I'm writing to invite you to join me for an important pro-life prayer service taking place near Madison on Saturday, September 8.

On that day, pro-life Americans will honor the memory of the more than 50 million unborn victims of abortion during the National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children.

Solemn prayer services will be held simultaneously at gravesites around the country where abortion victims have been buried, as well as at many other memorial sites dedicated in their honor.

I hope that you will be able to join me for the memorial service taking place in our community as part of the the National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children:

     Event: Memorial Service for Victims of Abortion
     When: Saturday, September 8 at 10:30 a.m.

This solemn memorial service will last approximately one hour. Special guests participating in the event include Fr. Richard Heilman, Pastor at St. Mary's Pine Bluff.He is a regular guest host on Relevant Radio’s The Inner Life, and is the founder of the Knights of Divine Mercy, which is an apostolate for Catholic men’s faith formation.. He is also he founder of the Ladies of Divine Mercy, which is an apostolate for Catholic women’s faith formation. He is the author of the Church Militant Field Manualand the Roman Catholic Man website, which are both dedicated to helping Catholics understand and train for their role in the mission of combating evil and rescuing the souls of our loved ones who have lost the precious gift of faith.

Please come out for this important pro-life event, prayerfully witnessing to the humanity of our unborn brothers and sisters, together with our fellow pro-lifers throughout the country.

In the Sermon on the Mount, our Lord promised us: "Blessed are they who mourn, for they will be comforted." 

On September 8, we seek that divine comfort as we mourn for the victims of abortion. Let us never forget their precious lives as we continue to work and pray for an end to abortion.

Does praying in front Planned Parenthood really make a difference?  Is it really worth the time it takes to get there, spend an hour or more on the sidewalk and to get back home?  In short, the answer is YES!!  Praying in front of Planned Parenthood does make a difference in so MANY WAYS and it is really worth every sacrifice you have to make to be there.

This past Friday we had a skeleton crew to witness for LIFE on the sidewalk – only one person signed up per hour.  Yet, when each person who signed up got there, they were not alone.  A man from Pennsylvania was in Madison for business and had the day free and came out and witnessed for LIFE alongside those signed up for each hour for the whole day.  We are grateful to God for sending him out to work in his vineyard with us!

Today is the feast day of St. Maximilian Kolbe. Many great things can be said about this humble servant of God.  Many of them stem from his great devotion to the Blessed Mother, Mary Immaculate.

The closer a soul approaches her, the more pure it becomes, the more lively becomes its faith. Kolbean Prayer to Mary Mother of the Church

Mary, Mother of the Church, I come before you in the spirit of St. Maximilian Kolbe, who consecrated his Franciscan life and work to you without reserve.  You accepted Maximilian’s self-offering; accept me.  You led Maximilian to Christ; lead me.  You formed Maximilian into a mirror of Christ; form me.  Your union with Maximilian provided the backdrop for his works of evangelization and heroic acts of charity.

Please grant, through the intercession of St. Maximilian, that I might fully collaborate with you and the Holy Spirit as an instrument for the upbuilding of Christ’s Church.  In Jesus’ Holy Name. Amen.

16 open hours this week!

For this year’s 40 Days for Life kick-off event (on Saturday, September 29th – time TBA) we will hear from Dr. Haywood Robinson.

 
Haywood Robinson was born in Los Angeles, California. Undergraduate education and medical school were attended in Southern California. Specialty training in family practice was obtained at Martin Luther King / Charles R. Drew Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Haywood is now a family physician practicing in Bryan – College Station, Texas. He has been married to Noreen Johnson, M.D., for 33 years. They are the parents of three daughters and have four grandchildren.

Pro-life work has been a passion since salvation came to this former abortionist in 1986.

PRAYER FOR LIFE
O God, our Creator, all life is in your hands from conception until natural death. Help us to cherish our children and to reverence the awesome privilege of our share in creation. May all people live and die in dignity and love. Bless all those who defend the rights of the unborn, the handicapped and the aged. Enlighten and be merciful toward those who fail to love, and give them peace. Let freedom be tempered by responsibility, integrity and morality. We ask this in Jesus’ name.  Amen.
