Excerpt from an e-mail to Abby Johnson (And Then There Were None) from an former employee of a Planned Parenthood:

“A woman came into our clinic one afternoon, in obvious pain. Another abortion facility down the road had given her a very heavy dose of Misoprostol to abort her quadruplets. She was already into her second trimester.

We guided her into the bathroom, undressed her from the waist down, and instructed her to sit on the toilet. We were all horrified at the events that unfolded in the next few minutes. The first baby fell into the toilet. The nurse grabbed a chux pad and held it to her bottom as we hurried her to the procedure room. It was then that the next two babies fell out and were hanging from her. The arms of the perfectly formed lifeless baby boys were wrapped around each other.

We were finally able to get her to the procedure room we started IV sedation, but she was still in so much pain. The fourth baby had had to be suctioned out of her. He came out in pieces.

I remember sobbing with a co-worker as we sorted through the remains of the fourth baby boy in the POC lab. We cradled the tiny intact babies in our arms and cried for them. I knew that I could no longer do this work. I was done.”

I don’t know about you but I wish the above “story” was from a horror film. Sad as it is, it isn’t, this really happened to these beautiful babies – these beautiful gifts from God.

We must keep our peaceful, prayerful presence strong on the sidewalk. We are not sure why however it has been very difficult to do this lately. You are urgently needed on the sidewalk every week! Please sign up for an hour this week.

On Saturday, September 10, 2016, Citizens for a Pro-Life Society, Priests for Life and the Pro-Life Action League will co-sponsor the fourth annual National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children, calling on pro-life Americans to honor the gravesites of our aborted brothers and sisters.

Solemn prayer vigils will be conducted at these gravesites, of which there are 50 across the United States, as well as at dozens of other sites dedicated in memory of aborted children.

By participating in the National Day of Remembrance, visiting these solemn memorial places at other times of the year, and spreading the word about this prayer campaign, you are helping to humanize our aborted brothers and sisters and deepening your own commitment to ending the injustice of abortion.

Vigil for Life will host one of these memorial services at St. Michael’s Church in Dane, WI. The address is: 109 S. Military Rd., Dane, WI 53529 The service will begin at 10 a.m.

Vigil Captains – Ideally, we need 14 so each Vigil Captain will only need to fill 12 hours every week.

Job Description: Watch the vigil calendar throughout the week leading up to your chosen one day of the week to ensure that each hour is covered. By the night before the start of your day, the hours must be filled. If they are not, you must call volunteers that might be able to fill the hours. “The question which we must pose to ourselves is what are we to do when philosophical madness is part of the supreme law of the land and when that madness facilitates the destruction of 1.66 million “unwanted” human lives a year. In deciding on our response, we should first remember the fundamental attitude which produced the proliferation of abortion. This fundamental attitude is held by the “consuming soul” which attempts to achieve mastery over reality by reducing everything to something which can potentially satisfy it. Rather than being people driven by our “needs,” and ultimately consumed by our “needs,” those who would defend life must pledge themselves to a life of sacrifice. Since unborn human beings are of such great worth and dignity, they are suitable beneficiaries of a life of sacrifice. By sacrificing something of what is “mine” in order to try to safeguard the life of another, I explicitly acknowledge and affirm the objective dignity and worth of that other human being. In an act of sacrifice, I give something of what belongs to me for the sake of another. By these acts I acknowledge that other persons are not there merely to satisfy my desires. The objective reality of their being demands from me a response of reverence. By sacrificing my time, my money, my career, my social acceptability, and, perhaps, even my freedom for the sake of the unborn I can offer to God’s most perfect earthly creatures, human persons, the reverence which is their due.”

Last week Tuesday morning, an ambulance arrived at Planned Parenthood to pick up a Mom to transport her to the hospital. This is just another reminder that abortion is not as safe as Planned Parenthood wants everyone to think it is. Abortion always has 2 victims: the mother and the baby. Please bring your witness to the sidewalk this week!

8 open hours on Friday

One of our prayer warrior’s called last week to let us know that a young woman whom he’d spoken with last summer stopped by to see him on the sidewalk the other week. She let him know that her twins (a boy and a girl) were born on April 28th! Praise God that she chose life for them! She thanked our prayer warrior with tears in her eyes. While we might not all have moments such as this, you must know that your peaceful, prayerful presence on the sidewalk does make a difference.

This note was sent to me by the Director of the Women’s Care Center the week before last: “But I can tell you that we did have a woman come in last week that we had not seen in a year. She had been sent over by a sidewalk counselor back then and based on notes we had we thought she had terminated her pregnancy. She brought in a beautiful little boy to show off. 🙂 “ Praise God! He is using your witness for life to save lives!

40 Days for Life – Madison starts Wednesday, Sept. 28 and ends on Sunday, Nov. 6th. We are in need of the following to keep our campaign alive!

Vigil Captains – Ideally, we need 14 so each Vigil Captain will only need to fill 12 hours every week.

Job Description: Watch the vigil calendar throughout the week leading up to your chosen one day of the week to ensure that each hour is covered. By the night before the start of your day, the hours must be filled. If they are not, you must call volunteers that might be able to fill the hours. If you cannot fill the hours, despite making numerous phone calls during the appropriate phone hours, you can call
someone on the emergency prayer warrior list. If you still cannot fill the hour, you must contact the vigil coordinator who will be watching the schedule as your backup.

Volunteer Callers – We’d like calls to start the week of July 25th.

Job Description: You will personally invite past participants to join 40 Days for Life again this fall by calling them on the phone to encourage and to remind them to sign up.

Events Team

Job Description: You will plan the kick-off, mid-point and closing events with the 40 Days for Life campaign coordinator. While the vigil itself is the bread and butter of 40 Days for Life, events are
important opportunities for bringing in new people and building up vigil participants.
Outreach Team

Job Description: The outreach team will promote 40 Days for Life outside of the current participants and current churches involved. This would include reaching out to pro-life or Christian organizations
for participation.

“I shall deliver you from this people and from the Gentiles to whom I send you, to open their eyes that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may obtain forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been consecrated by faith in me.” Acts 26: 17-18 These were some of Jesus’ words to St. Paul as he was traveling to Damascus that brought him to complete conversion. These same words echo with us today as we pray on the sidewalk outside of Planned Parenthood – “…open their eyes that they may turn from darkness to light…”

40 Days for Life needs YOU

Dear Friends of Vigil for LIfe – Madison –

We hope you are doing very well and enjoying your summer!

We are beginning to plan for this fall’s 40 Days for Life campaign. This year it starts on Wednesday, Sept. 28th and ends on Sunday, Nov. 6th. We want to make this one of the most impactful campaigns Madison has seen yet!

In order to do this, we need your help! We have lots of volunteer spots to fill for this campaign. The areas we are looking to fill with volunteers are:

4 open hours on Friday!!

A story from one of our sidewalk counselors:

Praise God! I just had a turn away at the Planned Parenthood in Madison. I called out to the couple as they were walking into the Planned Parenthood. The guy couldn’t hear me so he walked closer. I told him there was all sorts of help across the street. He asked if they do tests. I asked pregnancy tests? He said yes. I said yes they do. He asked how much? I said it’s free. I told him if she is pregnant they have all sorts of resources. He took a Women’s Care Center flyer and told the woman with him to come with him and they are in the Women’s Care Center right now. I wasn’t even on the sidewalk 5 seconds! Please keep them in prayer. When they left the Women’s Care Center the woman had a white piece of paper in her hand. Their car was parked in the Planned Parenthood parking lot. I asked them how it went and the guy said good. They got in their car & left. He said the Women’s Care Center staff was very nice.

All this from someone who had no desire to be out on the sidewalk on Friday afternoon. Just think —> if she hadn’t been there; this couple would have probably not gone over the the Women’s Care Center.

We need you on the sidewalk this week!

Enlighten and be merciful toward those who fail to love, and give them peace. Let freedom be tempered by responsibility, integrity and morality. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Happy Independence Day to all!

Today we celebrate the day our Declaration of Independence was adopted by the Continental Congress in 1776. This day marks the birth of the United State of America. The Declaration declared with clarity: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these Rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just Powers from the Consent of the Governed.”
As we know, these rights extend to the pre-born citizens of the United States of America. We must keep raising our voices for they are voiceless. All are invited to do this by our peaceful, prayerful witness on the sidewalk outside of Planned Parenthood on Orin Rd. in Madison. Please sign up today!

Prayer for the Protection of Religious Liberty (from the USCCB)
O God our Creator,
from your provident hand we have received
our right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
You have called us as your people and given us
the right and the duty to worship you, the only true God,
and your Son, Jesus Christ.
Through the power and working of your Holy Spirit,
you call us to live out our faith in the midst of the world,
bringing the light and the saving truth of the Gospel
to every corner of society.

We ask you to bless us
in our vigilance for the gift of religious liberty.
Give us the strength of mind and heart
to readily defend our freedoms when they are threatened;
give us courage in making our voices heard
on behalf of the rights of your Church
