Baby Saved!
Open Hours – We Need YOU!

Dear Friends,

I wish you could have heard the excitement in the voice of the prayer warrior who called to report that a baby was saved today at Planned Parenthood!

She told of a car that drove in and parked near the entrance but none of the four occupants got out. After an hour or more, they finally decided to leave. But as they were leaving, they paused at the driveway to give some wonderful news. The young mother in the back seat called out happily, “I’m not doing it! I’m not doing it!” The prayer warrior exclaimed, “There is much excitement here….and tears of joy! I can see how important it is for us to be out here!”

Glory to God in the highest….we give you thanks for your great glory!

Actually, God spared TWO lives today – that of the innocent unborn child and the preyed-upon mother. THIS is why we need you to take an hour and be out there, to pray and sacrifice for the vulnerable, the victims. Easter shows us that death has been conquered. Let us pray that the Easter message will give us the confidence and perseverance to be a witness for life.

What a beautiful Good Friday morning we had last week as about 200 prayer warriors joined Father Rick Heilman and the Knights of Divine Mercy in the Stations of the Cross at Planned Parenthood. Father Rick brought relics of the True Cross and St. Faustina which were held up in prayer at each Station. We are very grateful to Father Rick, the KDM, Mary Ann Croft, and all who attended; it was truly a holy Good Friday morning of prayer! Go to vigilforlife.org to see some photos of this special event.

Stations of the Cross Good Friday
Two More Turnaways – Wait til you read this one!
Hours Next Week
Dear Prayer Warriors,

Make your presence with us at the Stations of the Cross a part of your holy Good Friday services! Join your fellow Vigil for Life prayer warriors, Fr. Rick Heilman, and the Knights of Divine Mercy as we walk and pray each station for the unborn who have died, the parents who have been wounded, and the end of abortion.

Stations of the Cross TOMORROW

Time: 10:00am

Location: Planned Parenthood (3706 Orin Rd. on Madison’s east side)

Parking: Please park on the street only and NOT in the Women’s Care Center parking lot. (MATC is on spring break so parking on the street will be easier.)

One More Thing: DO NOT STAND OR WALK ON PLANNED PARENTHOOD PROPERTY! They will be open and watching so please stay on the sidewalk or terrace (between the sidewalk and the street). Let’s not give them a reason to call the police.

The Turnaways Continue….

God rewarded us again on Wednesday, an abortion day, with TWO MORE TURNAWAYS! Hopefully, this isn’t sounding commonplace or routine to you! As you may have noticed, this news is increasingly becoming a “normal” part of the emails. Your prayer and witness on the sidewalk is definitely having an effect! It shows what can happen with sacrificing an hour a week or an hour a month can produce. “Knock and the door shall be opened”.

One couple was ready to enter the abortuary until they heard they could get a free pregnancy test at the Women’s Care Center. That was all it took!

The second occurred when two young girls entering the parking lot announced they were against abortion, heard about the dangers of contraceptive methods, and turned around to leave. The shocker came as they were leaving! They told us that, when they called Planned Parenthood and asked about a pregnancy test, they were told NO PREGNANCY TEST UNLESS YOU’RE GOING TO END THE PREGNANCY!! They then drove over to the Women’s Care Center. We were unable to gather more details but, if this is accurate, we should be filling the sidewalk with prayer warriors every hour they’re open! This is NOT even close to counseling nor is it “choice”!

We have a responsibility and a duty to save young women and their babies from this victimization. Our Lord has told us….”Whatsoever you do to the least of my brethren, that you do unto Me.”

I know many of you will be out of town for Easter so here’s a reminder to take a look at the Vigil for Life calendar TODAY – It’s not up to somebody else to fill the schedule. We ALL must respond!

Dear Prayer Warriors,

Please join us this Good Friday for Stations of the Cross as we pray for the conversion of abortionists, their employees, all who are abortion-minded, and all who live each day in a cloud of indifference. Our world desperately needs prayers for the end of this holocaust and, on this day in particular, we stand at the foot of the cross with our Blessed Mother seeking Our Lord’s protection for the preborn and asking Him to take all mothers in crisis into His care.

Come to Good Friday Stations of the Cross!

Led by Father Rick Heilman and the Knights of Divine Mercy.
On Good Friday, March 29, 2013, at 10:00am
At Planned Parenthood, 3706 Orin Rd. in Madison
Please park on the street; do not park in the Women’s Care Center parking lot. Other questions? Please contact Bette Weisshaar at 608-358-5963.

Looking ahead at the open hours in our vigil schedule, we IMPLORE your sacrifice! Many slots need to be filled, especially on Tuesday and Wednesday when abortions are done hour to hour, all day long.

If we don’t see more commitment, we may have to abandon our sidewalk presence on these critical days when we have the capability to change hearts.

Is this really what God wants? Are we doing God’s will?

Please consider what an hour a week or every two weeks or even an hour a month in witness on the sidewalk could mean to a mother looking for an alternative to taking her child’s life. What are you willing to give for a life?

Can You Help Fill These Hours?

Monday, 3/25/13: 100% filled! Praise God!
Tuesday, 3/26/13: 1 person at 9:00, 10:00, 11:00am, 3:00pm, and 4:00pm – 5 OPEN HOURS!
Wednesday, 3/27/13: 1 person at 8:00am, 11:00am, 2:00, 3:00, 4:00, and 5:00pm; 2 people at noon and 1:00pm – 10 HOURS TO FILL!
Thursday, 3/28/13: 1 person at 3:00 and 5:00pm
Friday, 3/29/13: 1 person at 2:00pm
Go to vigilforlife.org/calendar/monthview to sign up or contact Bette Weisshaar at 608-358-5963 or info@vigilforlife.org.

Dear Friends,

What better way to begin a week than hearing this – your prayers have been answered! As you recall, urgent prayers were requested of you for a 14 year-old mother whose parents are divorced and who was contemplating abortion. We have just received word that she has signed up with an adoption agency and a family will be paired with her. Praise God that through your persistent asking, this child will be born and this vulnerable young mother spared a life of anguish and regret due to abortion!

In addition, we had another turnaway last Friday. When hearing that she could get a free ultrasound at the Women’s Care Center, a young woman opted for services there, stating that she didn’t believe in abortion.

PLUS – There are so many ways in which the Holy Spirit is working that we are unaware! We have been passing a sign from hour to hour on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, the killing abortion days, that reads: “Praying for you and baby.” Last week a prayer warrior told of a man who was driving by, pulled over, and said that this is the first sign he has seen in the pro-life movement that he could respect and get behind. She explained that we are not about judgment but rather a message of hope. We are changing hearts and minds in “baby steps” like this. One day the culture will be life-focused….but only with your prayer and witness.

“Knock and the door shall be opened….” Let us thank God for these gifts and let us use these “yes” responses to motivate and sustain us as we witness in prayer on the sidewalk.

But as Luke says…..

“We are unprofitable servants; we have only done our duty.” – Lk 17:10

This is what God asks of us. Being pro-life should not just be a private, personal belief but spelled out in our words and actions. Otherwise it is a light hidden under a bushel basket. Come show your light and “do your duty” as Luke says above. There are way too many hours this week to fill!

Can You Help Fill These Hours?

Monday, 3/18/13: 1 person at 9:00am
Tuesday, 3/19/13: 1 person at 10:00am, 2 at 9:00, noon, 1:00, 2:00, 3:00, and 4:00pm – 13 OPEN HOURS!
Wednesday, 3/20/13: 1 person at 8:00am, 10:00am, and 2:00pm; 2 people at 9:00am, 11:00am, 1:00pm, 3:00pm, 4:00pm, and 5:00pm – 15 HOURS TO FILL!
Thursday, 3/21/13: 1 person at 3:00, 4:00, and 5:00pm
Friday, 3/22/13: 1 person at 1:00 and 2:00pm
There are 2 weeks left in the Lenten season so there is still time to sacrifice to Our Lord for all He has done for us. We need you especially on Tuesday and Wednesday, the abortion days! Please go to vigilforlife.org/calendar/monthview to sign up. You can also contact Bette Weisshaar at 608-358-5963 or at info@vigilforlife.org to sign up.

Dear Friends,

Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter. (Prov. 24:11)

Last Wednesday this is exactly what two prayer warriors did!

A couple, who initially entered Planned Parenthood, changed their minds after seeing Rosaries in the hands of two praying volunteers. That was all it took! They came out, asked questions, and found out about the free services at the Women’s Care Center. When asked if this was what influenced them, they said, “No, it was your Rosaries.” At this, both prayer warriors gave them their Rosaries and all hugged each other. The couple then headed over to the Women’s Care Center and came out later shouting, “We’re going to have a baby!” All glory to God!

What a blessing to be out there that day!

A second couple turned away from Planned Parenthood to go to the Women’s Care Center upon hearing about their free services!

The power of prayer was unmistakable this day. Your Rosary is an incredible weapon to use in the spiritual warfare going on out there. Sign up for hours, especially on Tuesdays (9am to 5pm) and Wednesdays (8am to 6pm), when abortions are done all day long. You could experience the joy these two prayer warriors did by saving a life!

Last Friday was a busy day at Planned Parenthood. In the words of a sidewalk counselor, “At least 12 couples were there for first appointments (for abortions)…..” Prayer and vigilance are the key! Choose an hour and join us. You will see the Holy Spirit work through you!

Please go to vigilforlife.org/calendar/monthview to view the open hours and sign up. You can also contact Bette Weisshaar at 608-358-5963 or at info@vigilforlife.org to sign up.

Dear Friends,

“Ask and you shall receive….”

Through your persistent prayer, the loving concern of a prayer warrior, and the excellent services of The Women’s Care Center, another baby has been saved! The abortion-minded 16 year-old mother, for whom we requested your prayers, decided that a choice for life was the only choice.  Once she and the baby’s father saw the ultrasound, they knew they could do nothing other than give birth to their baby. This is great news and should give us all a boost of encouragement as we fight the forces of evil; but we’re not done here yet.  The prayer warrior will stand by them as they journey through the next months but asks for continued prayers.  Next they will decide to either parent their child or give him/her to loving, adoptive parents.  In her words, “….pray that God guides their hearts to a path for their baby’s upbringing that will bring them comfort, peace, and strength!”

Add to THIS glorious outcome a report of another turnaway from Planned Parenthoodlast Friday!

It’s clear our presence, witnessing and counseling on the sidewalk, is having an effect.  If we can all pitch in and stay the course, we will one day see this abortuary closing too, adding one more to the 4 that closed last week.  We’re entering the second full week of Lent; it’s time to reflect on how we’re doing.  Can I give more? Can I do more?

We need you to sign up for hours, especially recurrent hours, TODAY! Remember, we have added hours on Tuesday (9am to 5pm) and Wednesday (8am to 6pm) in order to have a presence during the hours Planned Parenthood is open.

It’s great to stop by and pray when you can, but we really need to know that 2 or more people are signed up and will be there each hour they’re open! Last Tuesday I received a call from a man older than Pope Benedict XVI asking me to sign him up for an hour!  It brought tears to my eyes to think of the sacrifice this must be for him.

We can all do more.

Below are the open hours this week; please choose an hour or a recurrent hour and save our vigil captains some phone calls!

Open Hours This Week:

Tuesday, 2/26/13: Only 38% filled!  1 person needed at each hour – 9:00am, 11:00am, noon, and 4:00pm; 2 people needed at each hour – 1:00pm, 2:00pm, and 3:00pm

Wednesday, 2/27/13:  Only 60% filled!  1 person needed at each hour – 8:00am, 10:00am, 11:00am, 1:00pm, 3:00pm, and 4:00pm; 2 people needed at noon

Thursday, 2/28/13:  1 person needed at 5:00pm

Dear Friends,

I’m so excited about the news that came out today that I had to send another email!  If you haven’t heard yet, Planned Parenthood is closing 4 locations in Wisconsin due to a cut in state funding. Listed closures are in Chippewa Falls, Shawano, Beaver Dam, and Johnson Creek.

Prayers are being answered!  With perseverance, time, and continued witness, we will one day celebrate the closure of the Orin Rd. abortuary also.  As the Canaanite woman had to ask Jesus again and again for Him to expel the demon afflicting her daughter, so do we need to persevere in prayer to rid our world of the evil of abortion.  “O woman, great is your faith.  Let it be done for you just as you wish.”

Today’s announcement of these closures is perhaps providential since today’s Gospel reading speaks of judgment and justice.  “Whatever you have done to the very least of my brothers, you have done to Me…” Matthew 25:31-46.

Open Hours This Week:

Tuesday, 2/19/13: 1 person needed at noon, 2:00pm, 3:00pm, and 4:00pm
Thursday, 2/21/13:  1 person needed at each hour – 2:00pm, 3:00pm, 4:00pm, and 5:00pm

Friday, 2/22/13:  1 person needed at 1:00pm

Many hours are still open, especially tomorrow, and we need you to respond to this call for help!  Please go to vigilforlife.org/calendar/monthview to view the open hours and sign up.  You can also contact Bette Weisshaar at 608-358-5963 or atinfo@vigilforlife.org to sign up.

Join us on the sidewalk in prayer that by the grace of God and persistent faith, the culture of life may triumph!

Thanks be to God for prayers answered!
